The antithesis between light and dark, between Sun and Moon, is everlasting, like part of the same flow of existence. Many allegorical meanings have been given to the necessary relationship between two elements that each exist as a consequence of the other. The new lamp Alchemie T, designed by Giulia Archimede for Catellani &amp; Smith, investigates this dimension whose components are diametrically opposed but always, and for ever, connected. Alchemie T is an exquisite sculpture composed of two discs: the former, made of alabaster and lit by LEDs, stays fixed, while the latter, made of brass, slides on a track-base made of Medea limestone just with a light touch of the hand. The interaction between light and shade reaches its peak the moment when the two discs overlap and almost mimic an eclipse.

Bellatrix, named after one of the brightest stars in the Orion constellation, is a wall lamp with a diameter of 120 cm featuring a handcrafted irregular surface expertly lined with gold coloured leaf. It is available in two versions: in the first, radial lines appear to be hand-drawn on the surface, while in the second, the design follows centrifugal curves. 
The Bellatrix disc is illuminated by 9 LED boards integrated into a 10 mm diameter brass rod, supported by a brass flex, allowing for adjustable lighting orientation. 
The interaction of light with the irregular golden surface and the indirect lighting effect, typical of Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s production, ensures a luminous comfort that makes this lamp suitable for creating environments with captivating charm.

A light from the past. 
CicloItalia is the natural evolution of Ciclocina, our classic lamp from 1989. Made entirely of hand-crafted brass, it is available in two versions: floor and table. A timeless icon from Catellani &amp; Smith, yesterday and today.

As the name suggests, For You is a lamp designed to be given as a gift. Inspired by the lightness of a wildflower, it has a small brass base and a slender stem, covered in blue fabric, that is supposed to be shaped to your liking upon the lamp&#8217;s arrival, giving it a personal touch. The rice paper petals, easy to replace, house a dedicated LED board emitting a warm amber-coloured light. The lamp features an integrated push-dimmer, allowing you to adjust the desired amount of light.

Lucenera was developed from a simple concept: taking the limelight off the lamp and giving centre stage to the light, depending on the subject illuminated. 
To achieve this, Enzo Catellani used a black carbon tube and flexible support. 
The shape is the simplest one possible; the object is the utmost in versatility.

The new Par 18 models by Catellani &amp; Smith are characterized by irregular blown glass shades. This exclusive texture, created according to Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s design by Bohemian master glassmakers and playfully resembling a golf ball, aims to maintain the transparency of the glass while generating a distinctive interaction of light with the uneven surface of the spheres. The Par 18 wall lamp is available in two finishes, white and black, both with brass elements. Thanks to the light emitted by a low-voltage COB LED, Par 18 creates diffused light, as well as a suggestive shadow pattern on the wall or ceiling, thanks to the irregular surface of the 16 cm glass sphere. The brass joint on the base allows a 350° rotation of the sphere on the horizontal axis and up to 90° on the vertical axis; the light beam can be adjusted in the desired direction and recreate suggestive light effects on the wall.

The Par 18 Chandelier is a creation that enriches Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s range of low-voltage Chandeliers with interchangeable light sources. Thanks to the transparency of the glass and the thin cables that support the pendants, the Par 18 Chandelier stands out for the lightness and elegance of the entire composition, as well as for the unique lighting effect. It can be made with spheres of the same diameter (8 cm or 16 cm), or by combining elements of both sizes; it can also be customized on request with bases of different sizes and finishes, with a variable number of elements and custom heights.

Les Petites

Petites Lentilles is the result of a search for refined simplicity, a balance between light and matter. A suspended oval made of untreated brass – measuring 120×60 cm – traces a large orbit in space, while small transparent lenses decorate its form, following its lines. Petites Lentilles is a celebration of light in its purest form, demonstrating how an amazing item can be created from the simplicity of a few structural elements.

PostKrisi is a collection in which light interacts with colour and shape, in a delightful interplay of transparencies and contrasts. The form ensnares the light, shaping and projecting enchanting, bewitching shadows onto the wall, amplifying their effect with the jagged, fringed edges that create a material effect able to strike a contrast with the elegant metal structures.

PostKrisi Chandelier

Inspired by the famous Escher self-portrait, the new Sfera lamp by Catellani &amp; Smith plays on the mirror surface effect, capturing the reflection of the observer. This spherical mirror reflects the setting it is placed in, with an illuminating effect even when switched off. Sfera can be used individually or in multiple compositions, to diversify the light effects created or to amplify the surprising interplay of reflected images.

Talismano is the new table lamp designed by Giulia Archimede in collaboration with the Catellani &amp; Smith Product Development Team. Set within the brass structure is an iridescent glass element, the result of lengthy experimentation and a complex workmanship procedure comprising a number of stages to produce the distinctive effect that makes every single lamp unique.

When, in 1989, Enzo Catellani decided to found Catellani &amp; Smith, he only considered the light bulb. “The lamp doesn’t make the light, the light bulb does. The bulb gives shape to that light” was something he said over and over again. Over these past thirty years, the light bulb has undergone various transformations, up to its latest evolution, the LED, whose enormous potential Enzo Catellani was immediately able to envision. New forms, unimaginable before, have been shaped by his creativity. 
This is how Trenta was born; a lamp that celebrates the light bulb, new technologies and the first thirty “light-years” of Catellani &amp; Smith. Held lit in your hands, Trenta reveals its magical power. 
Just imagine, you can now bring light to places you were unable to before, screwed to its pedestal or simply set down where otherwise there would only be darkness. 
Trenta is here, in your home, waiting for you to remember her, and what she is capable of doing. In the meantime, she puts on a fine display. She knows she’s important. She knows she is a tribute to the shape of light.
After being presented at Euroluce Lighting exhibition in April 2019, Trenta goes into production in a limited and numbered edition (500 pieces).
